Fiber content: 100% wool.
Yarn character/design: Border Leicester and Leicester Longwool are English Longwool breeds. They have heavy lustrous fleece with wavy or curly crimp. The yarn is semi-worsted spun to emphasize it’s lustre and give a lovely drape to your knitting.
Nature dyes: This batch is dyed with natural materials grown and gathered at our farms, locally from the wild or purchased exotic dyes from afar. These colors have a beauty and complexity that synthetic dyes cannot match. They can, however fade. We use mordants to improve lightfastness, but please protect from light, especially while labeled.
Yarn size: 2 ply, worsted weight, 11 wraps per inch
Skein size : approximately 128 yards/117 meters; 3.4 oz./ 96 grams
Suggested needle sizes: 7-9 (US)
Gauge: 4.5 stitches per inch using size 7 (US) needles
Fiber care: Yarn is pre-washed. Finished projects hand wash warm with low agitation, lay flat to dry or dry clean. Natural dyed colors can fade in light, but will fade true to color and acquire a new beauty.
